Life's Doorways...

Welcome and Enter NewPsychotherapists.comDoorways are transition points between here and there -- boundaries that separate an environment from another, the familiar from the novel.  As we move from one environment to another, the move shifts our way of thinking, our sense of being...

As we go through life, we come face-to-face with many doorways - some we will cross while others we will forego in lieu of different paths.  Whether or not we cross each doorway that comes along our way, one thing is certain:  each comes with it an opportunity to learn and to grow, to shift our way of thinking, to change our way of being...

The therapist and the client: demystifying psychotherapy

Written by Frank E. Santos, M.A.

Almost everyone knows of Sigmund Freud and some of the other more famous psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists.  However, many have knowledge of what transpires when an individual, a family, or a group of strangers meet a psychologist or psychotherapist based only upon what they see portrayed on TV and movies.   And those who actually know what happens inside a session between a client and a therapist because of personal experience are but a small fraction of the population.  But many, many people are curious.   The therapist and the client: demystifying psychotherapy, an article posted on ClinicalPsychotherapists.com, attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding therapy and the therapist/client relationship.  Read The therapist and the client: demystifying psychotherapy.

The book left unread… a reflection

Written by Frank E. Santos, M.A.

A few days ago, I mindlessly glanced at my bookshelf filled with literature accumulated throughout the years (no, I’m not that old). Most are textbooks, but a number of them are novels filled with fictional characters. As I stared at them, a particular book caught my eyes. I couldn’t help but remember how I came across that particular book and how my incidental introduction to it analogizes how we live our lives. You can read what I wrote about “The book left unread…” on ModernFamilyLiving.com: The book left unread… a reflection | Therapist, psychotherapist, psychologist directory | ModernFamilyLiving.com.
